Naomi

We've been planning this day for the last couple of months. It's been one of the things I've been looking forward to for a long time- adventure, sweet friendship, fellowship, and good conversation. To be completely honest, it has been something that I have been thirsting for for so long. Tasting it last summer, I came back to the US I felt lost and alone in a lot of different ways.

But Naomi! She has been there for me, has understood me, encouraged me, and loved me from across the sea! Oh how I am so thankful for this kindred spirit the Lord placed in my life last summer.

We met on the train station platform, just as planned, and proceeded on to our next stop together. Quiet conversation on a noisy bustling Metro is not always easy, but words come quickly with such a dear friend sitting across from you. Walking out of the Metro, there it was in front of us- the Atomium! I was not prepared for the gigantic-ness (is that even a word?!?!) of it all! It spans 35 stories tall (according to my super simplified calculations). We wandered through escalator tubes, galleries, exhibits, viewing rooms, talking and being silent. That's how you know you have a true friend- silence is okay. It's not awkward and it's not uncomfortable- it is simply being so confident in your relationship, you don't have to ramble or make up conversation.

So Naomi- thank you for your realness. Thank you for your honesty and humor! You are such a bright light in my life. You are such an inspiration and joy to me, friend!
Much Love.
